Description

Handwritten letter from illustrator Jean Gralley to Marianne Carus, featuring a drawing of Marianne cart-wheeling from city to city around the world as she promotes Cricket Magazine. Marianne Carus founded Cricket and served as Editor-in-Chief. Jean Gralley assumed the duty of illustrating the bug comics for Cricket Magazine when their creator Trina Schart Hyman retired. Gralley, who had studied art under Maurice Sendak, mimicked Hyman's illustration and lettering style very closely.
