Adachi Ginko

Adachi Ginko.JPG

Born as Adachi Heishichi, Adachi Ginko studied under Goseda Horyu. He worked as a war correspondant during the Sino-Japanese war, and during that time, his prints served as reports back home from the war front. This was extremely profitable for him, because thanks to the war's popularity, there was an enourmous demand for the latest information. He printed on triptychs, which were the most popular form of woodblock printing during this time. Ginko worked for several different publishers, and this was often done on a single print, or small collection basis.
