Letter handwritten by Arthur Davison Ficke on his personal letterhead and signed along with Edna St. Vincent Millay, Gladys Brown, and Eugen Boissevain to John Howard Lawson, complimenting him on his Broadway show Processional, dated January 21, 1925. Ficke was a poet, playwright, and novelist. His second wife was Gladys Brown Ficke, a painter and illustrator. Millay was a poet and playwright known for feminist activism. In New York as a budding poet, Millay initially worked with the Provincetown Players and the Theatre Guild. In 1923 she married Eugen Jan Boissevain.
