The Elena M. Sliepcevich Papers, donated by her family, served as the inaugural Collection for the Elena M. Sliepcevich Centre for Health Education Studies (EMS CHES) named in her honor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In 2008, Dr. Judy C. Drolet traveled to Norman, Oklahoma, with Dr. Elaine M. Vitello and Dr. Larry Townsend to obtain these Papers and additional artifacts ultimately housed at the SIU Museum, Paul Simon Public Policy Institute Mileur Collection, and SIU Health Education Department.

Prepared for researchers by EMS CHES fellow Dr. Brandye D. Nobiling, the Sliepcevich Collection is complemented by American School Health Association's donation relating chiefly to Dr. C. E. Turner, papers donated by the family of Dr. Paul D. Sarvela, and Drolet's own papers. Centre Collections development and research are ongoing. The Special Collections Research Center at Morris Library welcomes visitors to explore the rich history of Health Education through these Collections.
